New guy from NC

I've always loved the old GM iron, and finally got around to getting one. I was originally looking for a 67-72 k20, but someone offered up this truck and the price was right. It needs a little work, but most of the important stuff is there and the body is very solid and straight.

Originally, it had the inline 6, but that was pulled in favor of a small block, which was pulled in favor of the guy keeping the engine. Oh well, 350's are plentiful. Plan is to find a donor 73-79 truck to steal the disks, rear end, and motor.

I'm a die hard jeep guy, and have been building and tearing them apart for a while now. My wrangler is my other project at the moment, but that is on hold for now. Before I tore it down, it had a 4 banger, 5 speed, stock transfercase with 2 low and a slip yoke eliminator, dana 44's front and rear with 4.88's, a spool in the back and a lockright in the front. Also had a warn 9.5ti winch, a full cage, and 36 super swamper iroks. It was a ton of fun, but someone offered me a really good price for the tires and axles, so it's down for now.

Here she is before I tore it down:

And here's the truck that brought me here:

With the jeep, I've learned quite a bit about fabricating and junk yard hunting, so that's going to be very helpful with this truck. Plan is to spend little to nothing on it, and I think I can manage. The truck came with enough spare parts to possibly make a little money just from buying it (selling off what I don't need), and I should be able to do about the same with a donor truck. I know how to paint, do body work, rebuild engines, and regear axles, so I'm looking forwards to the project.

Oh, and no...I'm NOT going to lower this truck....might get off on the wrong foot here, but I just don't think these old trucks look right down in the weeds
