Would it hurt?

On the truck I have Aerochambers dumped with megaphones (echochambers) mounted right on to the ends of the mufflers. When I mean on the ends the mufflers were used when I got them and the muffler shop had cut them close to the outlet. Now can I take them and cut the phones off without hurting the muffler? I was going to use a recip saw to get a clean cut rather than a torch which I don't have anyways. I have the Blazer setup with mufflers like this but it has about 3 inches or so of pipe coming off the mufflers on it. Those haven't been ran long or at any great length yet to tell if it would hurt. I just don't want to hurt anything by cutting them off and later adding some pipe to make the bend down like they need.

I dont see why it would hurt much, atleast performance wise.. I would definatly get the "dumps" on there though..

Re: Would it hurt?

I was planning on getting them next week but I'm impatient. I wasn't sure if the lack of pipe directing the exhaust down would hurt them.

Re: Would it hurt?

I have seen trucks run flowmasters with nothing behind them. It sounds like crap to me, but it shouldn't hurt anything...

Re: Would it hurt?

I've heard these on LOHRTBT's old truck that got stolen with them having just turndowns and loved them. I will probably take the cut off wheel and take them off tomorrow. I forgot I had two of them instead of the recip saw

Next week I'll probably get the turndowns welded up. I may grab my brother's MIG and do it myself.
