What steering box to use?

The steering box on my 63 is leaking around the column shaft seal. The seal kit is pretty cheap, but looking at my service manual it looks like it would be a major job just to replace that one seal. Is going into the steering box as bad as it looks? It seems easier to just pick one up at the junk yard, but I need suggestions about what will fit and which ones are preferred. The truck has power steering and the previous owner put in a quicker ratio box which is pretty sweet, but he does not remember what it was out of.
