3" Drop Coils Installed

Finally finished up the drop coil install last night on my '77 C10. I started on the driverside Friday night and ran into several problems (took about 6 hours for just the driverside). First, the lower balljoint wouldn't separate from the spindle...I ended up having to make a tool to press it out. Then I had to cut off the post on the BL to press it out of the a-arm. From there it went pretty smooth, installed the coil, new lower BJ, new shock, etc.

Last night I tackled the passenger side. I removed the wheel/shock, dropped the rear of the a-arm (kept the jack underneath), slid the coil out, and slid the new one in. From start to finish, maybe 1.5 hours (at most). Dropping the rear of the a-arm (at the u-bolts) is definetly the way to go.

Hopefully, I can get started on the rear flip this weekend. No pics yet...
