New father son project.
My Dad came and got me this morning after he went to a local car show because he found something "I would be interested in" . on the way to the car show that something passed us going the other direction. we cought up to the guy in the grocery store parking lot and bought a 65 chevy suburban with no motor or trans for 300. i was talking to the guy and he said he had some people who were interested in it but did not have cash on hand, luckily we did . there is rust in the rockers, wheel archs, and rear corners and the front fenders are almost a lost cause but the rest of the body is in good shape. it origionaly had a i6 and 4 on the floor.

Re: New father son project.
now its time to figure out what direction to go with the motor and trans. I showed my dad the lowering kit and disk brake kit that gmc pauls sells and he likes the idea.

Dude that rocks. I have always liked the early to mid 60's Burbs, especially dumped. That is definetely an awesome project for you and Pops to hit. My Son is 15 so we will be there soon.

Re: New father son project.
i already have a temporary motor for it, i just have to pull it, my dad is letting me use the 235 and sm420 combo he has in his 50 chevy milk truck just to get the burb on the road.

Not so fun when u and ur dad have a father son project and dad just tells ya what to do. i ended up doin a frame up on his 65, all it needs now is paint and body work on the doors bed and hood and its done. he only put about hours into this truck. i put about a year of my time into then i got sick of workin on it by myself anf havent touched it in 6 months.....and guess what its still at the same stage as i left it...... |
