Not for nothing, I'm finishing a 454 that a race builder had started (buddy of mine) It came out of a 73 El Camino SS - it's not stock inside (crank, rods, Keith Black Pistons, shaved heads, 60 over) etc... he gave me the rest of the build sheet he was intending for it (I just need to drop a few more clams to obtain the rest of the parts) - he had it spec'd out to make 500 at the crank..... I won't know how accurate his design is until it's done. He has quite a few trophys and pics of cars he's done so he might be close....??? There is a thread in here somewhere from last year that has all my specs in it... again, for what it's worth... Can't wait to get it finished, I want to hear it run!

Its not hard to make very streetable, pump gas 500 HP from a cast crank 454. a little more compression,agressive hydrulic, or better yet a mild roller cam, stock oval port heads with 2.19 & 1.88 valves, & your on your way.
