Re: Big Mystery Bummer...while we were in NY!
I've dealt with insurance companies on leaks.... a broken water line hidden in floor or wall they will generally pay on.... wind blows shingle(s) off, limb comes down and pokes a hole, in other words acts of nature, they generally will pay...... anything related to maintenance (drain is plugged & backs up, leaks due to condition of roof, plugged up roof drain, plugged up gutters etc..... you will be in for a fight.... if that's the case, hopefully your auto ins. will pay for damage to truck..... did a repair on a residence where there was a big fire down the street... fire dpt. tuning on fire hydrants etc. caused some pretty drastic changes in water pressue..... the house was on an old meter without adequate pressure control... blew the compressin fittings right out of water stops at sinks & toilet.... owners were out of town & wasn't discoverd until the mailman noticed water running out from under the front door... it was determined the damage was not caused by lack of maintenece & ins. co. paid...... anyway, hope this works out the best for you!!

Sorry to here about the misfortune. Did you leave the air conditioner on while you were gone, if the drain pan in the attic is clogged or drain came unhooked i've seen stuff like that here in Texas.
