Got my panel home today!!!!
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and just got it home last night. It's got a couple of dings, and someone smeared bondo on it in a couple of places for tiny dings. It's got very little rust in the floorboard, and the front fenders have surface rust but are solid as new. It has 82k original miles on it, 283 w/3 speed manual that the PO put in the floor. It also reeks of catpiss from the rear window being gone. I'm wide open on the finished product, but the '63 Porterbuilt posted is definitely making me think of being a copycat. |

Re: Got my panel home today!!!!
OK, sorry for the pics being so huge. I posted them on another site and they aren't nearly so big. I'll try to figure it out.

Re: Got my panel home today!!!!
I would do it your way and not copy someone else's design at all. Being yourself and having it your way shows just how Creative your thoughts are as well as your rebuilding talents as well. With the body being that good it should come out real nice in almost any way you redo it.

Most definitely. I'll put my own swing on things, just like the malibu in the background. But, I do love the way Porterbuilts panel looks!

Re: Got my panel home today!!!!
that is a clean panel... those front fenders are known for disolving into rust, even in tx. (I looked at a few before getting my old '70 CST/20 longhorn)

Re: Got my panel home today!!!!
Nice project! congrats! Don't you just love it when you finally get the thing home for the first time? I'm finally getting started on tearing mine down after 12 years. This weekend I swapped the doors & hood out with some trashed spares so I could still drive it while I spiff up the originals.
I sure miss that big blue Texas sky - we're from Brady - not far from where you're at. Good luck & take lots of pictures!!! --Greg
