Pulley Alignment Trouble
I removed the alternator, water pump pulley, crank pulley, and power steering pump from a 1971 chevy. I am putting it on my 327 engine. Te stuff was on a 350. I had to place one shim behind the water pump pulley and it looks to be lining up good with the alternator.. The trouble is the belt between the power steering pulley and crank pulley. The power steering pulley is closer to the block by about 1/4 inch. Any ideas ? I have tried numerous different crank pulleys but have the same trouble. Are there different off-set pwer steering pullleys out there?

Re: Pulley Alignment Trouble
Is the water pump shaft on the new motor a different length then the pump on the old motor?

Re: Pulley Alignment Trouble
Long pump stuff will not fit short pump stuff.
