SUPPOSED to get Viair 400...got 380 instead

Ok well kinda pissed off but help me out here...

I ordered a 400c,tank,valve,gauges from a local shop.

Had to order from the US, parts got held at the border slightly late, not a huge deal. Told me to call him daily, i did for a full 7 days.

**** gets here tells me to come get it, when i show up he has a 380C there for me in chrome, instead of the 400C plain steel. They were on backorder for who knows how long.

Sooooooooo for my needs, 5 gallon tank, 4 path, 64 chevy 1/2 ton i wanted a compressor that would fill fast and shut off,

400c is the one i wanted, didn't see my self on the switches all the time, wanted to pull up to where i park, dump it, when ready to leave, fill it.

380c is 100% duty cycle 200 psi, but waaaay less CFM, fill time from 110-145 is almost a full minute longer, from 1:30 to 2:26.

SHould i be pissed off, or put up with the longer fill time to possibly be able to hit the switches more, the fact is my 5 gallon tank will drop to 110 so fast that i cant really "play".

Help me out...should i look locally for a 400c, or stick with my chrome 380C.

Oh and he forgot to order my tank...can be had locally in two days or less.

The 380 gonna run alot longer than a 400 series comp. Did he charge you the same? We normally have a fairly large stock of comps at the shop. If you want give me a call tomorrow 1 888 275 2588.

Ya he charged the same price, $260 taxes included. I got a chromed 380 instead of a plain steel 400. Do you have any 10" x 20" 5 gallon tanks, 8 port. He can't find one locally.

And those Viair guages, the just have a threaded nipple on the back side, i assume i have to use compression fittings, but the ones i used on my bags had a sleeve you slid into the tubing and then the ferrule and then the sleeve nut.

And the gauges are 1/8" line correct ??

You can use 1/8" or 1/4" for the gauges. I always have a hard time finding fittings for the 1/8" line locally. 1/4" compression fittings you can get at any home depot or hardware store. the threads on the guages are 1/8 male pipe thread
