Cool Coming to America

Finally it's going to happen. I'm coming over for 3 weeks.
Visiting LA (got some friends there), Nashville (to hear some good music, Rhonda Vincent is performing when I'm there ), and Philly.

My question is:

Can anyone give me some tips where to find Chevy parts and stuff along the route I'm driving?
Any info will be highly appreciated.

TIA,

Re: Coming to America

and for the non dutch among us : have fun , the swapmeet might be a good idea you only have to know whitch parts you need and how to tell them apart , if youre there check out the prices for a second hand blowerkit for small block chevy .
hope you bring youre camera

think the guy could use some help when hes there for cheap parts
im hoping to find the time and cash too to make it cross the pond sometime in the future and get bout 25 kilo worth of carparts in my suitcase back home with me

Re: Coming to America

Too bad, I'm flying on the 17th. Staying in LA for a week and then drive east on the I40 to Nashville. Then I65, I64, I79 to Pittsburgh, Then straight to Philadelphia, and fly home on the 10th (october).
Ideas on swap meets, good junk yards or specialized carshops are welcome.
Also looking for chevy t-shirts, caps, beltbuckles and such.

@watahyahknow:
I'll keep your blowerkit in mind, and I got my camera with me.

Re: Coming to America

I would recomend checking out the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky. It's right off I65 and it's worth the stop. The vette factory is there also, but I think they only do tours during the week.Oh and if driving yourself cross country the rest stops at the state lines are usually the best and safest and sometimes offer a free state map. Have fun.

Re: Coming to America

Depending on how long you'll be in Phila, there are several large and good junkyards out here. Hazelton PA has an enormous one, Harry's U Pull It. Besides that the ones i'm most familiar with are just over the bridge in NJ. You travelling over here by yourself or with a group?

While you're on your way up to Pittsburgh. Slide a little west into Akron, Ohio and check out "Summit Racing". (summitracing.com) might add 45 - 60minutes to the overall drive - plus the time you spend there.

Blink 32:
I'll be in Philadelphia for just a few days. I'm definitely going to visit the Hazelton junkyard! The bigger the better
I'm traveling with 2 friends. Driving across the country is too expensive on my own
Thanx.

Wedgemon:
I know Summit only from the internet, didn't know it was that close to my route. Will be another interesting visit. Thanx

Seeing Rhonda Vincent is worth the trip in itself... make sure you also go to The Station Inn while in Nashville.

Yes, I'm very excited to get the chance to see Rhonda. I'm playing her new album almost every day (did you see the clip with Dolly?).
The Station Inn seems like a good place to visit (I just checked the website). Maybe I have to change the schedule a bit so we can have more time in Nashville (big bluegrass fans as we are).
Thanx

That's cool. We arrive on the 17th late in the evening, and probably need the 18th to get settled a bit. I'll send you a PM.
