new to the board
new to the board and just wanted to stop in and say hello. can any of you guys tell me where i can find the value of a 77 c20 bonanza? my moms boyfriend has got one that he wants to sell me but neither of us has any idea what its worth.

well another zonie i see, where in az are you located? i would just check the autotrader and newspaper to see what there going for in the area, or nada could be another source but i'm not sure they go back to 77, but checking what its worth compared to others is a pretty good start, and post some pictures.

Depends no the shape and mileage, but I would guess $1000-1500 again depends on the shape.. if it is just real clean.. could get $2000-2500.

im in surprise, az. the truck has some minor surface rust and some interior pieces need to be replaced but other than that its in pretty good shape. he has got some extra parts laying around so i think we are gonna settle on $2000. he has already done a little motor work. mild cam, LT headers, true duals, dynomax mufflers, shift kit, edelbrock performer intake, and an edelbrock 600 cfm carb. i want the truck to be a little louder what mufflers do you guys suggest? i was thinking just doin straight pipes but im not sure if it will be too loud. what do you guys think?

Loud doesnt always equal best performance. You want loud go straight pipes, cant say it would be good for the engine for any length of time.. You want loud you could go with 2 chamber flowmasters, but they arent the best flowing mufflers, contrary to thier name..

yeah ive got flows on my mustang. what mufflers are you guys running? anybody have some pics of their trucks? trying to decide what direction i want to go with the truck. cant decide if i want to raise it and put some ncie 15" rims and some 36" tires or if i wanna go with the street rod look and lower it with some 17's.

Some of us have flowmasters... alot of the guys have started using Hooker Aero Chambers.. straight through design, not as much incab resonance but still throaty sound at WOT. I have flows on both of my trucks.
As far as raising it, good luck fiting 36" tires on that without spending some BIG $$$$ on lift kit and adding a body lift. Feel free to ask me more about this if you want....... The C20 is a 3/4 ton truck, right? If so, you will be a little more limited in your choice of lowering parts and wheels. The suspension is a little different, and the wheels will have more lugs than a 1/2 ton. AFAIK the parts are available, but you might have to pay a little more, and you probably won't have the selection you would if you had a half ton truck.
The other thing to consider is that, assuming it is a 3/4 ton, your truck is a long bed. A lot of people don't like the look of a lowered long bed. Before you make plans to lower it, look at some pics of lowered longbeds and make sure that YOU like the way they look. If you like it, go for it. If I was looking for a pickup to lower, I would look for a short wheelbase (SWB) 1/2 ton stepside or fleetside. It will be cheaper to lower, easier to find advice on (what product combinations to use to get the look you want, etc.) and look better than a long wheelbase 3/4 ton. Looks are subjective, though, and your tastes may be different than mine. Some folks might even argue that I have no taste in vehicles, so take my opinions with a grain of salt. well i finally got my mustang running again and sold it yesterday and bought the 77. first thing i have planned is to get rid of the original radio and speakers. any suggestions? dont need anything fancy just a cd player and some decent sounding speakers.
