Probably hit in the front and twisted the frame up.
Wasn't so unusual to put another front section on. Anyway you can do an accident history. Probably wasnt available back when, but can be done here at least now with vehicles in the past ten years or so in this province.... note province not state...not sure how things are down below. I dont figure it was a chop shop deal because you say the vin tag, vin glove box, and the rearward frame all have the same number. The repair looks like it was done with some integrity to safety...so it's probably legit. Not hard to grind down the frame number..but a little harder to make a repair to the font section of the frame with that outside repair to the frame channel. Your call for a total resto.
