What pressure switch do you run?

My bags are rated for 150 PSI, so the gauges I got are 0-150. The switch I got is 145-175 because I figured i shouldn't need more than that. Is this correct?

What are you running?

I've got a 160-200. But I've got a manual toggle switch to shut the comps off as well. I think that's always a good idea, just in case.

I never thought about an "on/off" switch for backup. I guess I should look into that further. It makes a lot of sense, just not sure where I should mount it.

The pressure swith is for the compressor and tank ... NOT the bags.

Yes, I understand that. But if the bags I run have a max pressure of 150, when would I ever need more than that in the tank? Should I run 200 psi in the tank? That's why I was asking what people run. I don't think I would ever have 150 psi in the bags.

Re: What pressure switch do you run?

The more pressure you can put into the tank initially means less the compressor has to run /fill later, which in turn means your compressor needs to run less often between dumps and fills.

Sure, it's gonna run like hell to fill the tank from dead empty, but after that it only needs to "top it off." I doubt your tank is gonna be dead empty very often.

Re: What pressure switch do you run?

I hope not. My tank isn't huge, but 7 gallons should be plenty, plus I am running my valves near the bags, so the lines will be charged all the time as well.

Since I got such a good deal on my setup, I might end up running a second compressor on the tank. If so, I'll get a higher switch too and call it good.

Re: What pressure switch do you run?

Yeah, I have 6 gallons total and had only 1 380c compressor. That lasted about a week as I got sick of waiting to fill. Running 2 now and it's just right.
I mounted my toggle switch under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. I turn it off after I get home so the comps don't come on at night and drain my battery. I've got a slow leak at one of the tanks that I need to fix, so right now that toggle switch is a lifesaver.

Re: What pressure switch do you run?

I was looking at location last night and I found a nice spot as well.

The tank I got mounts between the frame rails and has a port on either end for compressors. I was going to just mount one on either side and call it good. My fittings came today, so all I'm waiting on are brackets and I'm set.

Everything is supposed to be here next week, so expect a photo shoot no later than the 25th (my birthday no less).
