New 72 just home

Hi,

New here. Love the forums. You guys rock. I have a '98 K1500 Z71 that I bought new in '98 and just Tuesday I brought home a '72 Longbed. My original intent was to fix a few minor issues and then resell it, but I don't really know what will happen. I'm looking forward to fixing a few things with your guys help. Your a wealth of knowledge. I know it looks rough now, but just wait. Thanks.

From the great NW. looks like a good project. by the way you might want to remove the blue window tinting, it does not go well with these trucks.... j/k

Welcome

Ken

Re: New 72 just home

Yeah, that's the plastic that the previous owner had over because both door windows are busted out. (I already have the glass to go in them) Windsheild and back glass are in good shape though. I've since replaced the blue plastic with a high performance brown tarp with polished aluminum grommets and everything. Also, the dodge in the back ground is not mine. These pics were taken before I picked the truck up. It's amazing how much better it looks sitting in MY yard.

Re: New 72 just home

Hey 72freak,
Yeah, I feel like I pretty much stole it. Although it is in pretty rough shape. Lots of rust that you can't see in the pictures. But I figured for that cheap it was worth the gamble. I still think I came out pretty good.
I got it running last night. Runs pretty good. Still need to fix the brakes. I should have that done in a week or so. I've got the glass to go in the doors.
Hey, if your still interested I might sell it to you. Might make a good parts truck. Make me an offer
