The Performer has an exhaust crossover - so any good quality gasket set will work. If you can't get FelPro, the NAPA stuff is pretty darn good.

May be telling you stuff you already know, but be sure to run a 1/8" bead of RTV around the coolant passages and use thread sealant as appropriate on the bolts. It's easiest to have the engine at compression TDC on #1; that way you can just point the rotor at #1 and have a timing setting that will let you get it started.

Re: timing mark way off the scale???

well. checked timing mark and it lines up close to zero at the top of the compression stroke. removed the manifold and found something that made me feel like a retard. the gaskets i installed were the wrong ones. they werent cut out for the exhaust crossover. cant believe i didnt notice when i put them on. everything is reinstalled but i have to wait till tomorrow to start it and time it. dont know if that was my problem or not.

Sounds like you nailed it; let us know. Always remember when you're troubleshooting to let folks know about any recent changes

Congrats! It's still worth going through the tuning process to get the max HP from what you've got.
