87 to 66 front clip?
I recently bought an 87 1/2 ton for frontend parts swap.I am thinking it may be easier to cut the frames and weld the 87 to the 66 burb.Anyone out there done this?Any info/pictures would be greatly appreciated.I also want to lower the truck as low as I can without air.I have visited many suppliers sights,ECC,CPP etc.Being new to this I am boggled. As I live in British Columbia (freight costs) it is critical that I order the right stuff the first time.I know what I would like to do with the truck(if parts are available)I guess I need to talk to people who have there rides done, rather than a parts guy who may not know his stuff.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanx

Re: 87 to 66 front clip?
You should be able to unbolt the 87 crossmember and bolt it into the 66 frame. There will be one hole on each side that doesn't line up and will need to be drilled. If its an 88 front end then you will need to get the torch and the welder ready!

Re: 87 to 66 front clip?
^He is right. Im putting the front clip off of a 76 GMC onto a 66 c10 right now and there are 2 holes that dont line up and if you use the newr power steering pump as well then there will need to be two new holes drilled. Its not all that hard. The rear axle will most likely not just bolt right up unless you plan on 4 linking it. I will be getting a rearend out of a 71 or 72 coilspring truck to bolt up.
