What do you do to relieve the bags when jacking or putting your truck on a lift? Don't want to over-extend them, as my truck somehow always ends up on the lift for one thing or another...

Ideas? -Chris

shocks should help, or you could use a travel limiter.

Yeah, the shocks "should" limit the travel. Just make sure they do if you are running the sleeve style bags in back. They are more prone to pull out than the double convoluted style.

Some shocks don't work well as the limiter. The seals will pull out & start leaking causing the shock to fail.

A limiting 'tether' or strap made from simple braided steel cable that can be attached to the shock bolts should work.

Offroad shops would have something similar. They're called limiting straps and they're made out of really thick nylon, like a seat-belt, but thicker. Wouldn't have to paint them or worry about them rusting like a braided steel strap either.

a couple nylon ratchet straps should do the trick. best of all they're cheap. 14.99 at menards i think.

yep I usually just throw a ratchet strap around the axle when I put it on the lift.
