Hood bird on 55-59 pickups
I need some help. I can't remember ever seeing a hood bird on a 55-59 Chevrolet pickup. Was there such a thing? I think I'm going to get into an argument with the person that put this on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5011900&rd=1,1
Also, I think the bird he is has in the picture is one off of a 1956 Chevrolet car. He says it's made of steel, but I thought those were made of pot metal. The one on my 56 Belair doesn't stick to a magnet.

Re: Hood bird on 55-59 pickups
There was an accessory hood bird for the tri 5 trucks.
The ones I have seen looks like the link below (next to last at the bottom of the page) GM part #977242 . That may be one as well for other years, I'm not sure. All of these I've see were cast pot metal. http://www.classiccarautoparts.com/t...xt_access.html |
