59 fleetside.
I scored a 59 fleetside barn find that has a very good bed with ALL the bed chrome intact and most of the chrome around the big back window. It was only 600 miles round trip to look at it but for $2200 delivered from near Oklahoma to Houston I think it was a deal. Its been off the road since 84.
The left front fender is bent and the door needs some work but no really major rot anywhere. The only good piece of glass is the wrap around back window. But almost everyting thing is there for a resto job. As soon as I get it here I'll post some more pic's, I forgot my camera today. These are from the listing they had. |

Re: 59 fleetside.
Very nice find and well worth $2200. I just bought a similiar 59 Custom cab fleet shorty with nice trim and box from the Tulsa area and paid $3000 plus an 800 mile trip to pick it up. The 59 fleetside is my favorite. Show us more pictures when its home.

Re: 59 fleetside.
Thanks guys. I usually don't get these deals. I'll keep up posted. I did see a lot of small bone yards along the way with the 47 - 59 trucks. If I had the room I'd be going there with a trailer for a few days and see what I could come back with.

Re: 59 fleetside.
Nice score on the fleet side. What are the plans with it? Rebuild or parting it out?

Re: 59 fleetside.
I'm torn between a resto with some upgrades like disc brakes and A/C or pulling the cab and bed off fixing them and putting it on my already done frame which is more likely and faster. Everyone is so close to done with their truck here on the board and I don't think I've progressed much in the last year. The bed is definately going on something I have, I've been looking for a fleetside for a long time.
Now that I started a company to sell parts like this I do see a lot more trucks than I used to and some are good deals. So I just may see more of this kind of thing. |

Re: 59 fleetside.
Hey great score! You don't see many of those up this way at all. Don't worry about the progress you've made in the last year, there will be plenty of us left to keep each other company. I'm about to start a thread soon. My plans are to complete in the next 2 years or so...

Re: 59 fleetside.
Take your time and enjoy your restoration or upgrades, what ever you decide. Then enjoy the truck!
