My new project....
It's an '83 GMC with a 305. The best part is that it only has 53000 original miles and it was "donated" ! Needs some work but it's all there and thanks to a couple of board members I got it running and home... NOW the fun begins..

Re: My new project....
Looks like a good start. If I were you I would consider getting some primer on the hood and roof...

Re: My new project....
Thanks for the encouragement! I've started the cleanup process so I can get a better look at what I have to do. The truck spent most of it's life in Beaumont Tx and since it was parked outside all the time the body has it's fair share of "errosion" but it's not in bad shape over all. The engine and drive train seem to be in good shape also with 53,000 miles it looks to only leak oil from around the valve covers.
As far as plans go... I'm leaning towards "restifying" going with a stock look with better handling and performance but I have to get it all legal first.. One of the reason's it was given to me was because it failed our new state inspection process and the previous owner went to a new vehicle instead. I'll post updates as the project goes along... Thanks again!! |

Re: My new project....
Looks like pop them running boards off, lose the toolbox and what's left of the moulding. Then start on the mechanical aspects of it. It looks like a GREAT START!
