Re: Latest from Hill's
This is just my opinion but ... here goes . I like it but I wouldnt build one like it unless I wanted to lose a lot of money . Once they are built like that , they dont seem to hold their value . If you build a stock appearing truck ( see N2TRUX Cheyenne ) it will always have value since the look never goes out of style . That red truck will only appeal to certain people while Kens has an appeal that I do not think will ever go away . My feeling is that when a truck is body dropped it just lost value . I see it on the internet when stock and stock appearing trucks bring good money and a slammed to the rockers truck struggles to sell for 1/4 of the investment it took to build . Again , this is just my opinion and what do I know . Frank

Re: Latest from Hill's
customizing in general only brings in cash if you have a famous name like foose or jesse james , the john doe down the street whont get the money invested back on his car truck or bike unlerss he's lucky and comes across a starry eyed person with big cash in his pocket.
if i was to customize a car it would be for my own and i expect to loose money on it unless i drive the wheels of the car for several years

Re: Latest from Hill's
i agree about the loss in envestment. A while back i was gonna trade my 84 for a 72 stepside almost completed project truck. guy did the value of mine on KBB and NADA and said he wanted cash too. I have a motor that is worht more then the KBB value of my truck. ALso i havea bunch of add on's. but aside from the motor i could go back to stock almost any time by addiong rallies and interor things. That is my goal, clean and simple that can go back to stock. ALso my freind works as a junior dealer tech in LI. he tells me that they strip all bolt ons and custem stuff off trade ins cause it takes away from there value. lift kits, intakes, superchargers all decrese value from a dealer stand point. i always thought the oppiset but ahh well. i like how clan this truck looks and the interior is nice but i kind like holding the stock interor look alittle.

Re: Latest from Hill's
Frank thanks for the compliments. You and bagged74 both have valid points. There are some people that make modifications to a truck because they want it the way I want it and don't care about value. They are concerned with the impact that the truck will have when finished. In most cases they will invest 2,3,or 4x what the truck will sell for.
I have found it best to appreciate both styles of truck...... ![]()

Re: Latest from Hill's
Thats true .If your building to sale it then ya keep mainly stock to get your money back..if your building it to please yourself then dont expect if or when you sale it to get more then you put into it ..ask the rod builders they will tell you..haha.

Re: Latest from Hill's
Im pretty sure this is the truck that was at showfest last year half put together. If it is the bodydrop itsself and the frame work isnt too clean but at least they did a good job covering it all up. Overall it came out pretty slick, not my thing, but non the less.

Re: Latest from Hill's
i am with you guys. i like simp,le mods and clean stockish look. but my main reason for doing things is to make it how i want. I also understand that iching your talking about. right now i can say i have mine the way i want but that can change any time. i am really iching to do a frame off and it is not worth it to me to do it on my truck as it has not started. even if my next project is not a chevy i am gonna have alot of fun doing a frame off style resto. Build it how you want hold on to it have fun and maybe when you go out to sell it in a few years you can break even or better
