question about your rides
Hello all fellow 73-87 chevy truck owners, I'm new to the board and I was just wonderin what size drops you guys are all running, as well as wheel sizes, backspacing, and tire sizes. Just wanna see what works and what's popular and stuff, any replies greatly appreciated!

Hey FNG!!
I have a 2.5 spindal front and 4" hanger/shackel combo on mine. 235/60R15 on the front and 255/60R15 on the back. All on 15X8 aluminum wheels. If I put 255/60R15 on the front my truck would be nearly level. I plan on doing it soon. Front too low!! I've damaged an A-arm that I need to replace. Luckly I have a suburban front end ready to rebuild. |

4/4 drop here...1" springs/3" spindles up front and 4" shackle/hanger combo out back. I am going to lower it 1 more inch out back by removing a leaf or two from my current springs.

I have a 4/5 drop on mine, with 17x8 American Racing Torq Thrust II's. My tires are Nitto NT-450 255/50R17's all the way around. The BS is same as stock, 4 inches.
Mine is lowered with 2.5" spindles and 1.5" coils in front. Out back it's 4" leafs and shackles. All my stuff is Western Chassis.

I just put the 2in drop shackles back in the GHOST yesterday, i took them out cause i thought it was causing the problems i was having with noise in the drive train, well it wasnt , it was the U joints, now i have them back in. the only other lowering i am going to do in the 1 or 2 in drop springs in the front, i havnt desided yet. BTW mine is a LWB so it wouldnt look as good as yalls SWB trucks as low as yall lower them.

Jeff, let me know how the drop springs go. I'm looking for a low-cost way to drop slightly and think that would be a good way to go. By just changing the springs, does that not alter the geometry of the front wheels?

The 78 rides on a 5" drop using belltech 3" spindles, suspension techniques 2" springs, belltech shackle and hanger kit, and the overload spring removed. I use 15" progressive rims with 275/60/15's all around.
The 79 is running Eibach 2" springs right now, and the rest of the drop kit is in the backyard awaiting new tires. I have waiting: 3" DJM sprindles, toxic shocks, flip kit, c-notch, and shock extenders. Tires will be 255/60/15's.

Cruisin with a 4/5 drop, 2 cut coils and front spacer kit. (Will update with tubular A-arms and springs when the front end gets overhauled) and flip kit on the rear. 15x9 rims, 4" BS. 245/60/15's all around.

BIGRED, im sure it will but not real sure as this is the first time i have ever dropped anything i am already comnplaining about the ride now with the poly bushings, i am hoping it wont make it stiffer than it already is
being it is a LWB, i dont think it would look as good as the those SWB you see on here so all i want is a lower stance 2/2 to make it look mean

mine is going to be the exact opposite.im adding 3/4 springs to it to make it sit a little higher and ride a little rougher....its rides to much like a cadillac right now and it needs to change.i like rough riding trucks........if i wanted a car like ride i would buy a car damnit.
