Man I thought I was the only one having problems with that filter housing. I got several of these carbs put back, everyone around here gets rid of theirs and most end up here cause it is what I use. I used to not run one either but kept getting trash from the steel lines in clogging the seats. So I use one again now. Skokie if you need the springs to if yours are missing or damaged they have them in the help section. Hope this helps.
