Anyone using one of these?

I was thinking about getting one of these when I do the pro flo install. I don't care for the cheap pipe that they use, I was thinking about making the pipe work out of 3 or 4 in stainless. Anyone got any pics of one of these on our trucks or a blazer?

I believe in function, so having that in a drag car sure but a basic open element filter will do just as well for you on a driver.

I also believe in cool/nostalgic parts and that's got it hand down.

Re: Anyone using one of these?

My buddy has one on his Small block Ranger that he drag races. We tested back to back with and without the ram air box, made no difference. Mostly for looks, I think. But it probably depends on you exact combination.

I want the looks more than the function. Everyone has just a regular o'l air cleaner. My motor should be a good 450 hp after I get done with it so it shouldn't be overkill.

If you want the looks, I say go for it! Definately looks "racecar". I thought about getting one for the Beaumont, but when I saw no performance gain, it didn't seem worth it. Does add to the wow factor under the hood though.

I figured it would look good also, I think I will use the cone air filters at the ends of the pipe instead of trying to come up with some sort of intake for them and just not run the filter in the housing.

Re: Anyone using one of these?

Here's one I saw at the strip this summer....'80 chev......believe it or not, the driver was a 83 year old man and this thing runs mid 12s. I asked him about it, and he said that the system came from Canada, and it took a while to get it. Said he bought it "oh, I'd say around 15 years ago". It has a K&N for the street, but on the stip that goes away and he just using the grilles in the headlight buckets as filters. He used 3" or 4" exhaust tubing welded to the buckets on the back side, to connect the hose to. Hope this helps!! On with the pics...

Re: Anyone using one of these?

Check this out!! Here's a couple shots of one of my display engines. SPECTRE makes this stuff. Single & dual carb plenums, straight pieces, elbows, all 4" aluminum. You can build some pretty wild looking intakes, they would be great for building a snorkle on a 4x4. Check out www.spectreperformance.com.

So do you sell these? If so get me a price on part #9869. I want a big air cleaner to hide the EFI a little. Thanks

Re: Anyone using one of these?

Even though its in the catalog, the #9869 is still not available yet. You might contact SPECTRE. Yes, I sell all this stuff, but my store is straight-over-the-counter-retail only. I really dont sell via mail/phone/internet (yet). Im not to here sell my goods, just trying to help people find cool stuff. Again, SPECTRE might help you find a dealer. Good luck and if you really need something, MAYBE I could work something out. Thanks,
