Dash pads?

Well I did a few searches and came up with nothing, so tell me, what do you all do for dash pads? I need a blue one for my 86 Sierra, it doesn't even have one at all right now. I've had no luck at finding a decent one in the scrap yards and I can't seem to find a new one anywhere. Any tips where I could find one???

Joe

Did you do searches on this board? There are tons of threads here about OEM vs. adftermarket pads. Give me a few minutes and I'll post some of them!

Re: Dash pads?

I did some searching using the search engine on her ebut I guess I didn't use the right terms. I know how annoying it is when people ask a question that's been answered 100 times already. Sorry if I just did that!!!

No problem--I understand. Basically (IMO) dash pads come down to what ya want to spend. OE pads are the best and, consequently, the most expensive. What are your objectives--daily driver, show quality, in between? Knowing that will help.

Plainly put I want the best dash pad I can get. So where do I get it?

Thanks for the E-bay link, I'm going to check that out right now.

Re: Dash pads?

What year are you looking for? 73-80, or 81+? Chris (captkaos) has six GM pads for the 81+ models...so PM him like others have suggested. Just an FYI, the 73-80's have two different variations based on where the VIN tag is located on the vehicle. The earlier ones have a slot in the pad since the VIN is on the dash, the later ones do not have this slot as the VIN moved to the door jamb.

Also, you want a GM pad...they are the best...fit, finish, and quality wise. They will cost more, but you will be happier.

Also, I see them on eBay ALL the time...

Good luck. )

Cool Re: Dash pads?

Thanks for the help everyone! I'm sending Capt Kaos a pm!

It's an 86 Sierra, I got it suprisingly cheap so I'm going to restore it to like new and drop a LT4 in. Already have the engine and trans, now I'm just trying to find resto parts for int interior. I'll get some pics up soon so you can all get an idea what I'm dealing with.

Thanks again for the help!
