long or short water pump

How can I tell if I have a long or short water pump????

A short pump sits almost against the timing cover, a long pump sits about 1" away.

Don't forget about the Corvette pump which is in between the long and short.

Can you post a pic? I am pretty sure that alan grove components web site has pics and measurements of a short and long pump... so they can make sure you buy the correct brackets.

i only know of 2 pumps----short or long nothing in between-----vetts ran a short pump in the early 70s-----i think 72 or 73
