New Wheels and Tires

Ok, so I finally picked out a set of wheels and tires. I ordered 16 x 10 chrome weld cheyenne 8's with 38 x 15.50 mickey thompson MTZ's. I really wanted 12" wide wheel but weld has been sold to American racing and there are not many weld wheels left out there at the moment and there are not many other companies makeing 12" wide wheels in 16" and up sizes. I was looking at the 18" but I think they looked a little to big and I don't think it would fit with the truck. Anyway when I get them I'll post some pictures, hope fully the tire doesn't look to pinched on the wheel.

Will the 16's clear the disc calipers?

Sounds sweet, looking forward to the pics.

Re: New Wheels and Tires

My wheels are 16x10 with the exact same tires and they dont look pinched at all.. should look sweet. Those welds were the same wheel i was looking at before i decided to go with black. Hope you like them. worse case senario you may need 1/4 inch spacers on the front to keep the wheels from hitting the tie rod ends depending on the backspacing.

Re: New Wheels and Tires

We want pics! I was reading about that sale the other day. I guess I better get a set in the style I want for my 4X4 before they vanish.

I mounted my brothers 16 x 10's on my truck the other day and yes they are tight but they fit. one of the tires I mounted on the front had a lot of weight right where the caliper was and that hit, so I asked them to put the weights back farther on the wheel when they balance mine so hopefully they will be fine.

I am very surprised that weld sold out to american racing, hopefully they keep up with the quality and style.

On the balancing issue, have you ever tried the bags or powder they sell?
(forgot 'exactly' what their called)
I think it's just Balance...? Not sure.

I agree with hoping for the quality to continue, you could be sure you had a nice wheel if it said Weld Racing on it.
