Shocks and shock relocating??!!

Ok, the c-notch is in, the shock relocators are in (all CPP) and I noticed that the shocks dont sit flush in the shock relocators...it looks like I'll have to shim the shocks inward a little on each side, probably about 3/4" with washers...just curious if anyone else has had this issue?

Also, I think my current shocks will bottom out about 1/2" before my axle bottoms out in the notch, do you think its worth it to invest in shorter shocks (these are still good otherwise), and if so, what brand and how many inches shorter?

Are you sure you have the bottom relocators on correctly? There shouldn't be an issue. I have the CPP ones on my truck and they fit fine.

yeah they're on just like the pictures, angled inboard a little towards the driveshaft....I dont see any other way you could put them?...do u have a pic of yours by any chance?

What do you mean by your shocks don't sit flush? Can you snap a pic so I can see what you are talking about?

Hey 67Fleet, I noticed you still have the old panhard stud. Do you know how to get that thing off? It doesn't seem to hit anything, but I can't figure out how to get rid of it (without the sawzall).

dont have a camera at the moment so I can't, but the bottom mounting "hole" of the shock absorber sits "cockeyed" against the mount, unless I shim it inboard with washers about 1"

Good question. I never really thought of removing it. You only really see it if the truck is up on jackstands. I'm not too concerned with it on mine.

Hammer. Knock it out from the threaded side. That's how I got mine out.
