Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

Everything I have read here says 3 is too much. There are a lot of people who will chime in with "I have 3 inch springs and it's fine..." I'm sure. I would never run a 3 inch spring based on what I have read though.

Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

Bryan, if you are interested, I have some 1-1/2" blocks, adjustable panhard bar, and 4" rear drop springs I'll cut you a deal on. You're on your own for the front though.

Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

at the moment I have 4" drop springs and 5" drop springs out back. When I sell my car in a few weeks I am getting 2.5" drop spindles, 2" coils, and 2" blocks. Def getting the blocks soon though b/c there is way too much rake. I am also running a 275 45 20 tire. Looks great in the front with 4" of drop but I want to squeeze another 1/2 out of it.

add another 1/2 and this is what it will look like...

Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

Noticed in your sig that you have long tube headers. How far do they hang down?

Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

right now the LT's hang down about 3-4 in off the ground. The new LT's that I have I bought for a 72 Nova to give me clearance. They are supposed to fit about 3" higher and tuck up underneath. Prob going to put them on some time this month. Still waiting to get my heads (882's) and get new carb. Also going to put my new cam in when I do all this. The guy at the speed shop said that the cam is going to sound nasty with a real choppy idle...cant wait!!

Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

i wish i had seen some of these post, but left work. now that im at home, i already made my orders. i went with:
cpp: front 2" coils
rear 5" coils
2" block kit
c-notch
adjustable trackbar
mcgaughys: 2.5" spindle
5 lug disc kit
this ought to set her right with some 20's. im thinking 295 40 20(29.2")rear and 255 40 20(28.1") in front.

Re: Need quick help on lowering springs

looks like you made the right choice anyway. You should love the stance when you get it...
