Springs vs Bags for performance
Anybody have some usefull info on springs compared to bags for performance? I'm building my 66 as a protouring style and am wondering if one has a performance advantage over the other. It would be nice to lay the truck down at the shows, but it is more about function than form for me.
thanks ahead of time for any info. |

Re: Springs vs Bags for performance
Hot Rod magazine did a 10 page article on how much better bags were for performance. There have been quite a few articles lately that have said the same.
Hot Rod had 2 Chevelle's that were nearly identical builds, only one was bagged. A picture of them on the road course had the quote "the spring equipped car leans like a drunken sailor..." |

Re: Springs vs Bags for performance
Smitty's Custom Automotive of Tiffin, Ohio, brought out Chris Smith's air- suspended '67 C10. An attention-getter throughout the day, this jet-black hauler sported a booming exhaust note and handled the curves better than any truck has a right to. <edit> Here's and article from Chevy High Performance. It's a good read with some great pictures. Last edited by jimmydean; 01-10-2007 at 11:18 PM. |
