57 door latch adjustment ?

1957 3100 Anyone have any good tips on door latch adjustment to get the doors to close good, with out having to slam shut. Maybe my latches are just worn.
Has anyone changed to bear claw type latches? pictures?

I'm going to put bear claw latches in in the next few months. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey 55Chevy, How about a photo of the otherside of the door jam, you know were the "pin" type stud stick out and the bear claw lacthes to.

here that first pic I had sucked here are a couple better ones, also I made the striker bolt with well a bolt works good had to round the edges though.




im working with fiberglass atm so byebye hope those pics are what you wanted

Thanks for the info.
I am tearing down my 57 to detail it out.
New firewall,column,interior,paint and a 8-71 blown 502.
door latches ect...

Here's A few pictures of the 57 big window
It has a Crate 502 with turbo 400 trans.
3" flowmaster exhaust
FatMan frontend, Art Morrison rear Frame And 4 Link with a narrowed 9"
29.5 x 18.5 M/T sportsmans Weld wheels
4 wheel power disc brakes
Braking it down now to paint and detail.
installing a Direct sheetmetal 4" recessed firewall for more clearance
New column, Gauges, Seat & interior, 8-71 Blower on the 502
Front flip hood, Wiring.ect....Ill post more pictures as it progresses.
