Tie rod assembly
Can anyone help with finding some parts for the tie rod assembly. I didn't have any trouble finding the tie rod ends and the adjustment sleeves, but I can't find the tie rod itself. I need one for a 1968 c10. Thanks.

Re: Tie rod assembly
Are you talking about the center link? The tie rod ends already have the threads on them, they are 1 piece. The stearing parts on a 67-72 2wd are inner and outter tie rods, adjusting sleeves, center link, idler arm and pitman arm. Of the above only the centerlink is not avaliable new. The 4wd's are tie rod ends only. I am psoting a link to a diagram that shows what everything looks like and what is avaliable. Hope this helps.

Re: Tie rod assembly
Sorry. Trying to get the terminology correct. The center link bar is what I am needing. My truck took two trailer loads to get home because it had been taken apart. Evidently the center link was lost after the previous owner tore it down. I don't have the rest of the tie rod components yet but as stated above they are able to be purchased new. Any ideas where I can get a center link?

Re: Tie rod assembly
Only avaliable used. You might try the pickn pulls first. Just get one off of any 67-70 and you should be fine. Or you can subscribe and post a wtb in the classifieds. It shouldnt run to much for one as alot of us junk the 67-70 version for the 71-72 version when they convert to discs. Good luck and oh by the way, Welcome to the board.

Re: Tie rod assembly
I got mine through Napa, if you go to www.napaonline.com, it will give you the price/part number and description of the item.
It worked out good for me Adam |
