Greetings to all, new to this forum
I just thought it would be appropriate that my first post be used to introduce myself.
I have a 1986 2wd SWB Silverado. It belonged to my grandpa and I bought it from my family after he passed away a few years ago. I am in the process of fixing it up and right now it is in the body shop getting painted back Frost White. The truck has 69,500 miles on it and is pretty much just stock right now with a few exceptions. It was originally a 305, with some 3:08 gears. It would not hardly get out of its own way so I swapped out the 3:08's for some 4:11's and soon the 305 is coming out and an aluminum headed LT1 out of a 95' Camaro will be taking its place. As for other cars I take an interest in, I have a 1977 Trans-Am (pretty rough, but still driveable) and my other love is a 1970 454 4-spd Corvette that I am just about through with restoring (it now features a 525hp 496 stroker and a Tremec 5-spd.) I am a certified gearhead and I am glad to have found this forum. I am sure I will have lots of questions in the upcoming months and I hope that you guys will be able to help me out along the way. |

Welcome to the board!!!
Your vette sounds bad a$$!! Got any pictures of your vehicals? seems like everyone on here loves pictures. the people on here are great and full of knowllage about these trucks. The 95 LT1 will be a nice reliable and most of all powerfull upgrade for that 86! I also think it has been done a few times and alot of people on here can help you out with links to swaps and such. Good luck with it and it has a good history behind it. here was an 84 with a LT1 in it on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...QQcmdZViewItem

Re: Greeetings to all, new to this forum
Unfortuately the only pics I have of the truck are regular photos not digital and I do not have a scanner.
I will have to take some digital shots when she gets back from being painted. I will be posting those in a couple of weeks. |

If you want, you can throw a couple of pictures in an envelope and mail them up, I'll scan them, email you the scans, then mail back the originals.

Re: Greeetings to all, new to this forum
yeah progress shots are great to have! Man i wish i could afford a vette some times those look really nice. My uncal still has his first car buy the way a 79? black corvette with the red interior. He has it all stock except for some add ons to the motor so it will spin the tires. Nice vette and i agree with what frank said!
