Seen This One On Ebay

Looks similar to PCMCOBRA's truck with a grill conversion and smaller wheels/tires.

Yes it is a nice looking ride... it still needs some things completed. Danny and I took a look at it 3-5 years ago; and took it for a test drive as well. It's not a factory shortbed...

I also believe it was an original "blue" truck... the metal interior showed that back then.

Hey classic87 your truck looks similar, as well. Three to five years ago it makes you wonder if this project will ever be completed.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

It is nice looking! But am I missing somthong? It is over 5k and reserve not met. The underhood looks no better than any daily driver and it is basicly a stock truck that has been lowered and painted. Not dogging anyone, but but what is it really worth? I would think anything over $5k on a unfinished, mostly stock truck is kind of high? The paint is gorgeous, but you can't expect to get your money spent to a shop on a piant job back when you sell?
Am I just cheap? Well, I know I am cheap! Am I underselling this truck?
And if was nor originally a swb, was it a 1/2 ton lwb? Seems like chopping the frame and such would be a lot harder than finding a swb to me.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

Well thing is these trucks are really worth what some one will pay. With the work mostly done. Looks sharp and if ti was infact a long bed conversion that mikes it less disirable in my mind. As for the stock motor that caneasly be fixed. I would think 5k would be a fair price for it but i han=ve never seen it in person.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

Claims under 100k, high dollar paint job, new interior, new suspension, etc.
I could see over $5k. But for me not much more than that.
Claims $12k just in new parts?

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

That is what I was thinking, $5k is a fair price, but it is over that and still not met reserve! You can find similar trucks for that price. The frame chop definately lowers the value.
If there is 12K$ in parts, I don't see it. 4500 for the paint is reasonable if you drop off a beater and pay someone to do all the work, but will not add 4500 to the price.
I know that the buyer determines the value of anything, but you cannot get back what you put in a vehicle, unless you buy for $100 and make it driveable and sell for profit. You are lucky to get 1/2 of what you put in a custom vehicle, usually less, unless EVERYTHING is brand new. I don't know what was 12k$ on this truck though, unless it was shot from the beginning and many wear items were replaced.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

if the stock bed is cut down, i could see it losing value, but it looks to me like a regular swb bed, andwho looks at the frame that close when buying a vehicle? somebody can be good with a grinder and spray paint you know, and no one would be able to tell

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

The truck is nice . I am sure it has the wheelbase on the options tag in the glovebox . These trucks are getting more expensive every year and I personally hope it brings 10K plus . I am sure the bidding will top $8500 . If that truck could be bought for around 5K , and the frame was done nicely , I would buy it myself right now . Frank

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

good point frank,
SWB's are very much wanted now adays. They difinatly bring more then the LWB of the same condition. As far as 12k invested i can see it. I mean the paint job is about right and then wheels, tires, loweing kit, frame work, possible more suspention poarts. and then who knows maybe he redid the brakes , did the front end, exhaust , motor work.... Who knows. It all ads up quick and depending on where you live, how pcikey you are about parts, how long you search for deals ect. It all ads up. The reason i comented about the frame being chopped is because classic 87 said he has seen the truck in person. Nothing wrong with it if it was done right but for the amount the truck is probibly going to get too i would rather buy an un chopped.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

You guys need to see what people are pricing AND Paying for these here in East TN! I paid $5300 for my 44,000 orig. mile 86 with no air. I could easily get between $6500-7000 for it at the rod run this spring, and more if I pushed and waited for the right buyer. That truck would be priced between $12-15K here. They probably wouldn't get that much for it, but it would be priced that high. Mostly stock 73-87's sell for around $6500-8500 and customized trucks sell for more around here.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

i think that truck is worth $6500. it sounds like everything ahs been replaced or redone to near stock/perfect condition.

I think if regular not so clean 2wd trucks go for anywhere between 1,000 to 2,500 this is worth at least 6+?? i honestly would pay that if i had the money for a truck already done. thats about the most i would pay though. sad thing is ill probably have alot more than that into mine by the time its done.

Re: Seen This One On Ebay

I wouldn't pay 6,500 for a chopped up truck. A stock swb with a really good paint job, suspension upgrades, etc.would be a good buy at 6,500, though. If I buy a lwb it will stay a lwb. If I want a swb I'll buy a original swb. I'm not paying for that type of conversion when I can buy a original cheaper and go from there. I suppose if you do alot of reselling of these trucks you might love to see them sell for 10k+. I like to drive and enjoy mine, so I'm on the otherside of the equation.
