the carb (quadrajet) on my '85 3/4 ton has had it and i was thinking about putting a 750 edelbrock performer on it.
my question is:will everthing hook up?lines,cruise control,etc.
any help would be appreciated.

To put the perfromer on your "STock" intake, will require an a dapter to match up to the spreadbore design. The edlebrock will connect to most of the truck, tranny and vacuum without any trouble, but you may want to get the adapter for the cruise control if you have it. Edelbrock has a bolt on adapter kit for that. I have an edelbrock in my 84 and one in my son's 86 and they connected easily. I used the electric choke models and had no issue there. Do you really want a 750 carb? What size motor do you have and what tranny and gearing? The reason that I ask, A truck is heavy and if you over carburate for your gearing, then all you accomplish is pouring gas into your cylinders and get a sluggish response. Talk to an Edelbrock tech on their tech line and see what they recommend for your truck.

I think it will i have an edelbrock on my truck but it doest have cruise control so not positive but everything else did ( what he said about the edelbrock carb to stock intake i put after market in take on my truck so i thought u were going to as well)

the specs on the truck-GM Goodwrench 260hp/300 ft-lbs crate engine,turbo 400,14 bolt w-4.10 gears.
i'm not really set on a 750-it's just what i thought the stock Q-jet was.
i really didn't want to spend the extra money on a new intake.i also wanted to still be able to use cruise control.
this is my work truck so i'm not really interested in putting a bunch of performance parts on it-thats what my '72 cheyenne is for

also,i've tried having carbs rebuilt locally with no luck,dont trust the $340 auto zone reman. carbs,and i'm not sure about the JET stage 1 Q-Jet from places like jeg's & summit.
i know my best bet would be a Q-Jet but i would rather have a new carb instead of a reman. one.

The 600CFM model (1406) has electric choke and is non-EGR, and a great carburetor (even after surviving a fire!) I suggest that is what you go with. Anything bigger is too much for a standard crate 350.
