My truck decided it wanted disc brakes this weekend!!!
Like I said my truck made the decision for me... I was backing up into the shop to try and find out what the growl from the front right wheel was when...bang the front just fell... the carnage follows. Luckily I wasn't driving down the highway when this happened. It was only making noise in reverse I thought the brake shoes had fell apart...
These are all thumbnails Pretty nice wheel but notice the lug nuts and the center cap are still in place... Turn the wheel around there is the drum notice the spindle still in place...well just the shaft part of it... And the bearing was not even ceased at all I could spin it with my fingers buttery smooth This thing sheared off smooth...looked like it had been cracked for awhile and finally fished breaking more carnage footage Oh but here is a picture of the 23" Lokar shifter I installed a few months back that I have been meaning to get pictures up of.

its probably for the better. it will no longer be a mystery whether or not the truck will stop in good time or glide through a slow down into the back of a car. you definately wont regret doing the swap and at least you werent out on the road when it broke that would have been one he!! of a ride

Yeah, it was pretty scary thought that it had been driven about 30 miles and parked for about a month immediately before this happened.

WOW! I have NEVER EVER seen a spindle break, on ANY vehicle. I've seen wheels fall off from loose lugnuts, but WOW!

go to www.gmcpauls.com and check out what he has to offer. his prices are always fair and the service is excellent always. he will not sell parts that he wouldnt himself use and he has been a part of this board just about since it started

Have you used this kit before? Is it a complete kit or will I have to scavenge for parts?

Glad you ended up safe. Got a buddy with a '69 and his wheel fell off because of loose lug nuts. Nothing like that. Crazy!
I've heard a lot of guys recommend the ECE kits but I have no personnal experience with any, yet.

I am in mineral wells, which is about 45 minutes west of you. But, I am looking at six lug kits I don't want to have to buy wheels again. Thanks for the offer though.
