84 silverado 3/5 drop problems
I did a 3/5 drop with spindles and flip kit from djm. The problem is the rear is tucking the tires and the front sits about 1.5-2 inches above the tires. The 3/5 drops I have seen do not look like this. If you can give any advice I appreciate it.
Thanks, Ronnie |

Re: 84 silverado 3/5 drop problems
Are you using the stock springs and shocks? Im just guessing that may have something to do with it. They might just be tired and in need of replacing.

Re: 84 silverado 3/5 drop problems
I have replaced the stock front shocks with the DJM shocks. I did not put the rear on yet. I was thinking the shock is just a damper for the oscillation of the spring, it was not designed to carry the load of the truck. Do you think this may be the problem?
Im running stock springs in the front with the 3" drop spindles. The front did not drop 3", it only dropped a little over 2", while the back dropped a FULL 5" if not slightly more. |

if you can post a pic it will help.also you might try posting in suspension section.alot guys know their stuff over there. it could be your stock springs.if you can swap in some new spring's.you notice the ride will be better than those 25 yr old things.

Re: 84 silverado 3/5 drop problems
Don't go by the measurement from the top of the tire to the wheel well...the wheel wells on these trucks are at different heights.
Does the truck itself sit/look level??

Re: 84 silverado 3/5 drop problems
I took measurements before and after from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. I dont have the exact numbers with me now, but the drop in the front was not 3". The rear of the truck sits noticeably lower than the front. A 3/5 drop should allow the truck to sit level. I will get a pic later today.

Yes, yours turned out the same as mine. Did you take measurements before and after?
