Looking for knobs
I am looking for some replacement knobs for the wipers and lights on my '72.
Right now they are black plastic and plane. Anyone have pics of some nicer looking ones that are maybe direct replacement or easy to switch out. Mainly the lights one looks tricky. Thanks, Chad |

Any of the BB members will have the deluxe knobs.The light knob is removed by reaching up under the dash and pressing a button on the switch itself then pulling the knob,which comes out with the shaft attached.The cost is fairly low and some of the site vendors may have a deal on a complete set.The wiper knob is held on by a small set screw.

Panel is correct, however you should disconnect your battery because as you pull out the light switch shaft you'll also turn on the lights. The spring loaded button is on the top of the switch. Push it down, and at the same time pull the button out.
Sorry about the blurry pics, but the button is the small post looking thingy just beyond the rheostat. (You don't need to take the instrument panel out, it just happens mine is.) The knobs are readily available through the board vendors.

I seem to recall a member making his own knobs out of aluminum stock.He spun them on a lathe and they turned out pretty nice.
That was some time ago though and I don't recall his name. Just another idea I guess.
