points/generator to HEI swap

Please forgive me...I also posted this in the "Electrical" section, but I hope that you understand that I would like as much information as possible. I own a '62 C10 with a 235 that has points ignition and a 12V generator. I recently purchased a 368 Cadillac big-block that has an alternator and HEI ignition. I'm not into anything fancy... I just want to be able to use my truck's stock electrical stuff (gauges, lights, etc.) with the HEI ignition on the big Cadillac. What do I need to do to complete this conversion? The Cadillac is carbureted.

Re: points/generator to HEI swap

all you need for the hei is a twelve bolt source that comes on with the ignition switch on.i used the wire for the old coil.you will need to make sure that the wire is at least twelve volts.
