Looks like an honest mistake to me but who knows. I like the idea of parking a F**D in the driveway and taking pics, I'll have to remember that one.

If the guy knows anything about the 67-72 era, then he should've never sold you those hubcaps. Shoot, he shouldn't even be a member of this board!!!! Those appear to be off of the later 73-87 model. Probably after 77 if I'm not mistaken. The early 73-87 were actually different than those.

Maybe the guy is color blind. I deal with the visually challenged all day. I could see where if you didn't specify a color where the guy could get confused. (this applys only if the dude happens to be color blind..lol)

I am also not trying to "stir the pot", but this may be a case of "honest mistake." I, for one, do no know the difference in any year hubcabs. I am one who prefers aftermarket wheels, so the hub cab issue would have been a hard one for me to decipher as well. With that being said, looking at the two pictures I can only see a difference in the GMC stamped in the center. The top picture is kinda dark to make out any fine details......just my .02 cents...whatever its worth.

Like I said, I will give him a few more days before I take any more action. Yes, I agree that the picture I sent him sucks, but it is very obvious to me that they are different. Also, his description stated that they "are chrome" and "are like new". The caps I received are neither chrome nor like new. It may be a big misunderstanding and mabye he hasn't checked the board or his e-mail lately. If that is the case, then this issue will be resolved without any name calling. But if not..... then round up the goats!

At a first glance I could see they were different. There is no problem with the picture. It was the seller that wasnt paying attention or didnt really care. I have seen this with too many people, parts people in dealerships and aftermarket places. They dont pay attention and just send it out figuring people will just keep the item then getting into a big hassle and return it.

i have never seen black letter caps n 67-72, always red lettering and blue or red bowties, but the bottom ones are 76-up oens, 73-75 were different, had ripples deals like the painted ones in 71 72 had on std equipment caps. they just changed from blue to yellow on the bowtie ones and gmc probably stayed red painted in them,
they do not look same at all, but thats to me, i immediately notice every little detail difference, but im anal about this stuff regarding thing slike this, so i dunno. is membe rin question a well known member, higher poster ? |

Stop taking my stinkin' goats!!! I should go into the goat business, it would be pretty profitable to sell them to everybody....hmm, should have thought of that before. All right, goats for sale, $250 (they come with a full stomach, hehe)
