I recently sent my steering wheel out to get dyed at The Truck Shop in Tenn. Well it came back today, looks great. It was originally more of a blue-ish grey and was sticky. Now it's like new and matches to boot! It cost just under $100 with shipping both ways.

I love that new setup! Man, I that's what I want to replace my wheel with. Different color because of my truck color, but same design. Of course, mine is a `68, so not sure how accurate. Where can I get one of those?!?!

Yes Tim, I believe I do. One of my many sicknesses.

And yes, the older Chevelle wheel is in Rita's.

Doobie and bean-I don't believe Jerry restores stock wheels, just sells them and dyes them. I do know he sells this style of wheel there. He has them in most all factory colors and they come with the wheel, adapter, horn button and horn parts for I think around $300. Or you can junkyard/swapmeet for one, it's an Old's wheel.

I have a 3-spoke that has the aluminum exposed arond the rim,the grip is black.I wonder what he could do with that.Does he cahange color or re-mold?Is yours re-molded?

I don't think he can re-mold, mine's just dyed. It was in pretty good shape to start. He probably knows someone who can re-mold though, knowing him.

Looks like a wheel from a buick or olds h-body (same as a chevy monza). I think they used them in others, but the adapter and horn button hardware is interchangeable with the 3 spoke chevy wheel that has the same looking spokes.

Ok,about the dye(I should prolly just call Jerry).I wonder if he can change color.Mine`s in good shape and black.It would be cool to color-match.

Not to be stupid, but why would one want an air bag wheel in an earlier truck? I'm not against the safety aspect but retrofitting airbag technology in an earlier truck but it wasn't designed for it. Newer trucks have crush zones built in that the airbags are calibrated for. I'd be worried that the sensor calibration isn't right, too slow and therefor ineffective in a wreck or too fast and blowing off in a parking lot fender bender.

OEM's spend millions to design and calibrate supplemental restraint systems, having an aftermarket come in and design a one size fits all universal kit isn't going to happen anytime soon.

You wan't better protection without an airbag, retrofit 3 point belts into your truck and use them. That heavy frame and body will do the rest in a crash.

I believe he can color change, might just take more dye to cover black is all. He has those wheels like mine in all colors that he's dyed.
