Super Bright L.E.D.'s
Hi Everybody,
I was in the market for some LED tailights for my '67 C-10 and ran across this website: http://ccledlighting.tripod.com/ Their website was a little confusing. First off, no prices ?? Apparently they only make LED's for '67 to '72 Chevys. They claim theirs are the brightest LED's on the market. I also didn't understand if they are selling them, or are still in the prototype stage ? This a quote from the site: "As you can see, they are bright! There is no missing these lights! Below is an up close of one of the lights. These were the original proto-types that have only 120 L.E.D.s per side. The new ones will have 162 per side! This makes them a little brighter, but much more full that the previous design, and certainly fuller than the traditional bulb". Has anybody tried this particular brand of L.E.D.'s ???? Thanks, Joe M. |

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
Thanks Guys,
I'm aware other vendors (Brothers, Tuckers, etc.) are selling LED tailights, but they typically have somewhere between 25-to-60 actual LED's installed to the tailight lens. This particular vendor (Custom Classic) claims some of these are not much brighter than a conventional tailight bulb. Custom Classic claims they use 162 actual LED's. I was looking for some "Horsepower" lighting; like when you pull up behind one of the newer Caddy's.......they almost hurt your eyes !! My question is: Has anybody used this particular brand ? I just didn't want to get ripped off. Thanks Again, Joe M. |

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
I personally wouldn't buy from them simply because they do no list a price and there are several spelling errors on their very "homemade" looking site that some might not worry about; but to me screams shady or unknown. It might not be, but I am always leary of a site that looks like that and is also not a .com or .net type address.
Early Classic has them on their site with 160 led lights and it appears that truckandcarshop has ones that look like them as well. Can't vouch on either because I haven't seen them in person, but might be another option for you. http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx http://www.truckandcarshop.com/trucks60_72/t60_126.html |

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
Thanks JWPOORE,
Early Classics has them listed for $199 a pair. The Truck Shop has them listed for $149 each. By looking at the pictures, they look identical from either vendor. Because the LEDs emit a red light, Early Classics offers the option of using clear tailight lenses. They also had a tech article about LED installation. Nice website ! I'll give them both a call on Monday. After I get them mounted, I'll post the results here. Thanks Again, Joe McMillan |

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
I've ordered from superbright LED's a couple times and have been very happy.
I agree their site is a little cumbersome, but they most definately list prices, they're just on a seperate page... If you look in the "LED" menu, you will find the following options: * LED Main * LED Prices * LED Info * Buy LEDs

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
It's my understanding that the site you found are the suppliers for Early Classic. I got mine from Early Classic and they work great on the K10 but the ones I bought for the C10 have been sent back twice and I'm still waiting on replacements.

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
I have the LEDs from http://musclerodz.com/. For $49 they work excellent. They are a sealed unit with the lense attached to the LED circuit board. The lense is designed to work with the LEDs. They are much brighter than the stock 1157s, but I have never compaired them to the LEDs that ECE sells.

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
Mike, do yours have the lights the full length of the taillight or just half?
Thanks,

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
Anybody know who's will work if a trailer is plugged in. I know the early ones had to have a full 12v, when I hooked up my boat with the voltage drop they wouldn't work because of voltage drop.

Re: Super Bright L.E.D.'s
Hi Joe, I had mine custom made by a former board member and mine light up just like the new Caddy's They have 324 individual led's per side so I guess they qualify as "Hosepower" lighting!
