frame help!!!
I am in the process of disassembing my grandfather's 65 lwb fleetside. I have noticed some damage in the right front. It doesn't appear to be too serious- bumper slightly bent and lower right front fender bent. My question is this: Is the front of the frame supposed to be slightly offset towards the drivers side, or does it appear to be slightly bent from the damage? Any feedback or frame pics would be greatly appreciated.

Re: frame help!!!
My 66 looks fairly straight. If anything it bends slightly towards the passengers side. The front clip is off so I could stand in front of it. Hope this helps.

Re: frame help!!!
The profile of the left and right side frame rails are mirror images of each other and perpendicular to each other. If there is misalignment, there is some frame damage to address.

Re: frame help!!!
Thanks Lilred!!! I later found it to be definitely bent towards the driver side. Seems my grandfather was hit by someone who ran a red light. He did a particularly good job of compensating for the damage and it wasn't obvious until we stripped the front end down. I found a swb frame here locally and I am going to use it. BTW, what part of South Carolina did the red truck come from?

Re: frame help!!!
Hopefully, you are able to correct your frame rail issue. I am not sure where is SC OLRUSTY came from. Is that the truck you are speaking of?

Re: frame help!!!
Yeah, i'm referring to Olrusty. I'm from the northern part of the state. Actually near Charlotte, NC in Rock Hill, SC. I was fortunate enough to find a guy locally who must have 50 or so of these trucks in his backyard. I mean its really cool to see some of the stuff he has in his yard. I thought I was oughta luck when I found out my frame was bent. The frame I bought had a couple of issues but I've corrected them. It's about ready for sand blasting and powder coating now.
