Re: F150 mirrors--what about the old holes?

I looked at the sport mirrors and realized they have 3 mounting screws--I was thinking only 2. So now my other thought is to mount the F150 mirrors to the same area that the sport mirrors mount to, covering the old holes. I think this would require something between the body and mirror to change the angle and make the mirror sit straight. Maybe some type of wedge-shaped steel plate. Any thoughts?
