Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
Well I picked up a tube grille pretty much for free from a buddy online and cleaned it up, then installed it today. Now it's in dad's 84 so I know it's up to him as far as final say as to if it stays or not. he said he might not like it, he didn't know he'd never owned one before. I put it in but he hasn't seen it yet. So time will tell I guess.
As for myself I like it, I love chrome. HOWEVER..... I'm thinking it needs a few things to make it even better. So I'm looking for opinions.... Paint the inside areas of the radiator support black? Paint the radiator black also? Add a chrome bowtie emblem in the middle? or add chrome headlight bezels to finish off the chrome look? Now let me make it a poll, feel free to comment also.... Here's before... and after....

Re: Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
I myself vote for chrome bezels, chrome emblem, and paint the support black, but undecided as to whether or not I want to paint the radiator. I kinda like it being aluminum. Looks off though showing through the grille.

Re: Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
I think it at least needs a chrome bowtie emblem in the middle maybe chome headlight bevel not that you could tell a whole lot of differnce with them on at least in a picture maybe in person it would really make the frint pop a little. I think you need to paint the rad it does look a little off though.

Re: Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
I agree, I like the bowtie's in the middle, only down side I have to custom"not stock" grilles is not having that bowtie. Plus as you said in person now the silver colored bezels look a bit off against all that chrome. I gotta get that piece next to the passenger light anyways since it's missing.
I know for sure the core support needs to be black, might do the rad. too.

Re: Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
Paint the core support and radiator satin black. Put a chrome bowtie too if you want to break it up a little..

Re: Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
Not a fan of the stock one. I don't care much for them painted black or body color either. They are nice to be something different though lol.
Sorry guys can't send anyone a grille until i figure out what we're gonna do for sure. I say the tube grille will stay. The factory was and is very nice, only damage is both lower corners under the headlight bezels where the screws go to hold it down both corners are broke off. Somebody snapped them before we got the truck.

Re: Just installed chrome tube grille, pics.
Ditto......bowtie emblems look like crap on tube grills.....the angle of the bowtie on the ends don't 'flow' well....it interupts the smooth lines of the grill.
