painless kit
who has used a painless kit and do you have any pics i want all new wiring and dont want to spend 800 for factory stuff

Painless sells a great product specifically for our trucks, but if you are willing to do just a little more work, there are other options. I used an EZ wiring harness and paid just $125 at a local swap meet a few years back. came with everything you need and it works perfectly.

pm Musclerodz he sells a great product that is comparable to painless, but unused wires can be unhooked from the fusebox so you dont have a giant bundle of wires

What you have to consider with the Painless or any other universal kit, is that you don't get all new connectors with the universal harness kits. That is where the expense of the factory stuff comes in. I just sold a full set of factory harnesses and a Highway 22 kit both to board members this week.
We can get you the Highway 22 kit which I highly prefer over Painless' universal kit. It is 100% modular and as mentioned above you don't have a bunch of extra wires bundled up under the dash when your done. AAW is coming out with an update kit for 67-72 trucks but it won;t be ready till late this year. I hope to have the first one in my hands for my K5 project. Mike

I did a Painless Kit, the 18 circuit one intended for our trucks. It was easy. The toughest part was dismantling the half moon column plug to reuse it, other than that, no problemo for this newbie. The directions are easy to follow too.

I'm in the middle of putting my painless kit in my truck. The part number for the kit is 10206 and if you are gonna use the factory A/C you will need a another adapter I don't have the part number for that. There are alot of extra wire that comes with kit but if you are planning to put power windows in and have a power antenna the kit is already wired for it. The radio and speaker wires are all broken into sections for the back and front. The only hard wiring that you half to do is for the headlights,taillights and all the engine wiring. The kit even tell's yous how to put in HEI if you have it.Everything else is ready to plug in. I don't have any pic yet but give me a few day's and check back.

The EZ kits are allot less expensive and get the same job done. connectors can be bought any were also its not too hard to find them unless it all has to be OE style perfect
I think that painless charges too much IMO good product but they are a bit to proud of it.

Looks real close to the summit racing one. I purchased one from Summit but have yet to install it. It looks really nice and I am please with what all came with it but will need to install it before I pass final judgement.

Yup. I think mine should be here monday - the 22-circuit should be enough for my needs - I cleaned up my blinkers/lights on the engine bay side. I think I'm just gonna need to remove the interior bulkhead, snip the wires at the fusebox, and plug into the new AAW kit. We'll see. Hoping it's relatively simple.

I just finished an EZ wire mini 20 (same as Ebay link, but from company). It was easy, just layed it out in my living room, read directions and installed, but... I mounted the fusebox on the passenger side, have custom gauges, switches, lights, different radio and speakers, and therefore I had to alter some things. All in all it worked fine, just a few wires left to hook up and I like the system. I can also remove the front end and/or bed without cutting wires, just unplug a single connector and unbolt (Trailer connectors wired in line). EZ Wiring was fine for me, just make sure to get the worksheet and it's all good in the wire hood.
