Re: beer keg gas tank
If gravity fed, a line out the bottom (with a filter ) and a filler neck with a vented cap on top.The cap will have to vented so the vaccum doesn't stop the flow of fuel. If the keg is steel it will be fairly easy to weld an old filler neck stub on top. However, it may not be legal in most states, so you may want to check first.

Re: beer keg gas tank
Im building one right now, Ill post pics when I get them. But I just went to home depot and got all copper plumbing fittings and put a 1/4" outlet on the bottom with a shutoff valve going into a cheap filter. The filler was the hardest part, Im still working on that. I used a filler from a 94 chevy pickup and mounted it flush so I couldnt see it. Kegs are made of stainless steel so its a little tricky to do the welds. Make sure its really clean because hops will kill a fuel pump. The sending unit for a gauge is up to you, Im making a dipstick to check my level, I want it to look as little like a fuel tank as possible.

Sounds cool AFscott. You should keep taking pics of the whole build process. Maybe we can host your "how to" somewhere with pics and stuff like that!

Re: beer keg gas tank
I am making one right now too. But my keg is aluminum. I have a vented gas filler and a bung for the bottom (gravity feed). All I need to do is get some gas for my tig and weld them in. The only bad part is that my keg was only half full when i got it.

Re: beer keg gas tank
There's a guy that I work with that has the beer keg gas tank on his 1923 T. I can take some pics of how his is set up if you like. Looks really cool on the ole bucket. Everyone would be jealous/ wanna be your friend if you're driving down the road with a keg in the back of your truck. haha

Re: beer keg gas tank
where are these kegs gonna be mounted, in the bed right behind the cab? that's a neat idea, never seen it except in t-buckets.

Re: beer keg gas tank
Here are some pics of the guy's 1923 T with the beer keg tank. Looks like he had a nozzel welded on the side and just tapped an outlet whole in the side. He said he doesn't have a gauge for it. Just opens the cap to see how much is in there.
