a couple of questions for you 80's trucks guys

two electrical boxes I found when parting out this 80 something cab and Im wondering what they do:

one is screwed to that square metal trim peice that completes the dash, below the steering column. its got a big aluminum heat sink on it and it has many wires going thru

the second one is a yellow plastic box, with 3 wires going thru, and the wires go right to guage clip, right next to the speedo cable input...

any ideas?

also I want the intermittant wipers box and stuff, where should I look and what all do I need? Ill be keeping the column.

I may have some good used parts of this cab that I wont be using so stay tuned.

Mike I think the heat sink compnent is the wiper module for the intermittent wipers. On the other maybe either a electric cruise control or a electric speedo?

brandon: i think the other one may have something to do with the cruise control.... the truck was cruise equipped.

if it is intermittant wipers, ill be keeping it... as for parts, all I have is the cab, not a complete truck. And there is no rear cab trim sorry.

can anyone else confirm the identity of these boxes?

On my 85, the cruise control module was a little green box, about 2-1/2" square, and 3/4" thick or so. It was mounted in a bracket right beside the steering column. I think this is what your yellow one is.

The other one sounds like the delay wiper controller to me.
