Ok guys need a little advice. I have a 5" front drop on my 78 already with 275/60/15 tires. The tires tuck about 3/4-1" inside the wheel well.

Im about to install a 5/6" drop on the 79 but have to get new tires first. I like how my other wheel/drop combo looks, but for a daily driver it just dosent cut it. I would like the wheel to be right at the fender lip. I am thinking about 245/60/15's. Anyone else have an opinion?

255/60/15's should be perfect.

also, tell me about how the tires on the 78 act with the drop.

cause i'm gonna see how long i can keep my 275/60's on there with the 4/6 drop

WERD! 255/60/15's are perfect for 5 inch front drop. they will be right at the fender lip. 245/60 will give you a little wheel gap.

as you can see i have done quite a bit of expirementing whit tire combos. by far the 255/60's were the best fit for that drop. they are 27 inches tall which is short enough to not rub on the inner fender and tall enough to ware you don't scrape your control arms everywhere. i also had some 235/75's on the front at one time and needless to say the rubbed all the time.

Ryan- I dont think my question culd have been better answerd. PICTURES! YES!

Eric- the 275/60's are great for a weedend cruiser tire on a 5" front drop. The tires are in the wheel well just enough to look sweet. You'll need to roll the fender lip, I forgot to do that and it took a few chuncks of the tire out when I hit bumps. Also, the tires will rub slightly on the top of the fender. They only do this if Im cornering hard AND hit a large bump [I have no sway bar and old stock shocks, so those didnt help] I have no problems in normal driving.
